April 6, 13, 20, 27: The Catechism of the Catholic Church

With the publication of the Catechism, new in 1994, Pope John Paul ll
wrote, “It is offered to all the faithful who wish to deepen their knowledge
of the unfathomable riches of salvation”, as we read in Ephesians 3:8.
It is a statement of the Church's faith and of catholic doctrine, attested to
or illumined by Sacred Scripture, the Apostolic Tradition, and the Church's
Magisterium (teaching body).

During these next four weeks we will look at the catechism's four pillars,
or four part structure:
o baptismal profession of faith: the Creed
o sacraments of faith: the Sacraments
o life of faith: the Commandments
o prayer in the life of faith : Prayer

Presenter: James Cavanaugh, Director of Evangelization and Catechesis
