| According to Archdiocesan guidelines, preparation for First Reconciliation is to take place before preparation for First Eucharist and children are to have been enrolled in a Catholic school or religious education program for at least one year before beginning to prepare for this sacrament.
Parents and children together participate in the preparation which takes place in early Fall. Materials are provided for parents to work with their children in the home. The sacrament is celebrated during a Reconciliation Celebration in January. See schedule below. Youth and adult Catholics who wish to celebrate Reconciliation for the first time may need to participate in the Christian Initiation process. |
