R.C.I. A. Adults

RCIA and Adult Confirmation

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is for anyone interested in becoming Catholic. Included in this process are those who are unbaptized and those baptized in another Christian church.  Adult Catholics who only have been baptized and possibly celebrated the Eucharist may also participate in this process.

The catechetical sessions for these adults are currently being offered on Tuesday evenings. The length of the process depends on the person's understanding of the Catholic faith and whether or not one is baptized.

For those not yet baptized, the length of time is approximately nine months. At the Easter Vigil they receive all three Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.

Those baptized in another Christian denomination can be received into full communion with the Catholic Church at any time of the year with the approval of the RCIA director and pastor.

Confirmation for Adult Catholics already Baptized will be scheduled by the RCIA director and the pastor based on the person's readiness.  Each individual is involved with the RCIA director and the pastor in discerning his/her readiness for celebrating this Sacrament.
