Pre-K - 6th Grade

Children's Faith Formation

Parents whose children attend the public school may choose a weekly Catechetical Program or a Home Study Program for their children in Pre-Kindergarten (age 4) through grade five. Either choice is intended to supplement what takes place in the home by the parents who are the primary educators of their children's faith.  Children in sixth grade and above are encouraged to participate in our Youth Program.

The Weekly Program is offered in the school on Sunday morning from 9:15 - 10:45 a.m., September through April.

The Home Study Program can serve as an alternative to the formal group sessions or as a supplement to them. Parents must attend an information session in September at which time they will receive the books for their children.

The Catechetical material for the Weekly Program is based on the Sunday scripture readings and is known as a Lectionary-based process. Our doctrine and teachings of the Church flow from scripture and children are helped in making connections with daily living of these truths. It is also our hope that this will help the children be better prepared to listen and participate prayerfully when they go to Sunday Mass. A colorful new handout is given to the children weekly to take home so that the parents can further review and discuss the new week's learning. Online resources are available to parents using the link provided.

Registration for the Faith Formation programs will begin in mid-August.
