"Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments.  Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: 'Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water and in the word.'" (CCC 1213)

Parents who wish to have their child baptized must attend a preparation session that is offered on the first Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. during the months of January, March, May, July, September, and November.

Parents are encouraged to participate in the preparation prior to the birth of the child. Baptism celebrations are scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on the first and second Sundays of the month, during the Holy Mass on Sundays and by special appointment.

Children of catechetical age, approximately seven years old, as well as older youth and adults who wish to be baptized participate in the Rite of Christian Initiation process.
