In order that the Eucharist may be readily received, authorization was given in 1973 for unordained (therefore extraordinary) people to distribute communion. These ministers are men and women at least 18 years of age and fully initiated into the Church with the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. Their ministry is to serve the Holy Eucharist under both species (bread and wine) to the assembly. Training is required. Scheduling is done monthly according to your preferred Mass time.
